Eighteen Weeks

Today marks eighteen weeks of pregnancy. I can hardly believe that I am nearly half-way through this pregnancy. Time certainly starts to fly once you get into the first trimester. It must be all of the nesting and planning for baby that takes over!

I went back to the Just Between Friends sale on Saturday for the last day's 50% sale. I got an Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper and a Graco Snap 'n' Go Stroller Frame for super cheap. And my mom went a little nuts with buying little socks, hats and clothing...for a steal! Some items were 2-3 bundled together for $1.50-2.00! So we are definitely set on clothing until next summer! Next on the list is buying our cloth diaper stash, car seat with bases and crib (which we've decided to go with the Athena Daphne in White instead of the BabyMod Cadence in Honey Oak) with mattress. I am combing Craigslist for a rocker that is in good shape and hope to snap one up soon!

Other than that, life just keeps plugging along. In two weeks I am off to Great Britain for a week for work. Just before that we'll have our Level II Ultrasound and two days after I return I'll be seeing my regular OB/GYN for our regular appointment. So far all is progressing well and I just pray that it continues on course. I have found that in the last week some worry has crept back into my thoughts. I guess I am just anxious to start feeling this Little Being inside of me.
Speaking of the Little Being, according to BabyCenter, here's what's going on this week:

Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
